County health officials announced late Wednesday the 11th human case of West Nile virus for the 2017 season.
The person lives in Lewisville and was the second human case diagnosed in the city this year. The person was diagnosed with West Nile fever, a less serious form of the illness.
Mosquitoes carrying the virus are less active as temperatures drop, but the threat remains until the region sees its first killing freezes, health officials said.
