Aubrey school district offers early exit incentive
Aubrey school district employees not returning next school year are eligible for an early exit incentive if they share their intent with the district March 26.
Superintendent James Monaco said the early exit incentive allows employees to receive 1 percent of their salaries or $500, whichever is greater, and it gives the district a better picture of employees intending to remain for the next school year. Those who plan to leave at the end of their contracts this summer must notify the district prior to employee contract renewals later this month to be eligible for the incentive, Monaco said.
The district has seen a slight decline in its enrollment, which may require staffing cuts in the 2012-13 year, he said.
“It’s the first immediate step to find out where you are staffing wise,” Monaco said of the incentive. “That’s a program that I’m hoping will be helpful. We’ll see how much it helps.”
