Blood drive set for Monday at UNT
An American Red Cross blood drive is planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the University of North Texas Center for Leadership and Service, 1155 Union Circle.
Red Cross officials reported last week that due to a low number of blood donors, blood products are being distributed to hospitals as quickly as they are coming in and every blood type is needed to help maintain a sufficient supply.
A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required to donate. Donors must have general good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 with a completed parental consent form). Many donors are eligible to give blood every 56 days.
For more information or make to an appointment to give blood, call 1-800-733-2767 or visit www.redcrossblood.org.
