Someone stole a trailer with lawn equipment on it from a man’s driveway Friday, according to a Denton police report.
The man told police the trailer went missing sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the 600 block of Westway Street.
Two lawn mowers were taken along with the trailer, which is valued at $875, the report stated.
The man told police he’d only owned one of the lawn mowers for about a month and it is valued at $6,400.
The other lawn mower is valued at $300, the man reported.
A neighbor told the man she remembered seeing it parked in his driveway at approximately 1 p.m. but it was gone at 2:40 p.m.
The man reported that in March someone had taken a trailer with lawn equipment on it from his shop on North Elm Street, but he didn’t report it because the equipment was older.
200 block of Fry Street — The manager of an apartment building reported to Denton police that a man was damaging property and fighting with a resident Friday night.
The manager told police the man damaged one of the apartment doors, which would cost about $75 to replace.
The manager was prompted to walk over to the building after hearing a lot of screaming and kicking, he reported.
When he got in the hall, the manager reported seeing one of the residents defending himself against the man with a baseball bat.
The man had taken off running down the street, but he was later found. He initially denied having been to the property but later told police he was there visiting a friend.
The man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, the report stated.
