State environmental officials approved an agreed order in Austin on Wednesday that levied an $8,484 fine against a Lewisville Lake marina for water quality violations.

Inspectors found Marine Quest Hidden Cove, operating on the east side of the lake, in violation of three state rules related to its wastewater operations between August 2011 and October 2011. Specifically, the marina did not submit its annual sludge report, failed to comply with discharge limits and failed to include some data in its monthly discharge report.

No one at Marine Quest Hidden Cove could be reached for comment Wednesday afternoon.

According to state records, the fine was enhanced because of 18 previous violations at the marina, which is considered to have average compliance. In addition to the fine, the marina has 90 days to come into compliance with several technical requirements related to its wastewater operations.

In all, commissioners approved $494,832 in penalties for violations of state environmental rules by 34 entities.
