LITTLE ELM — The Little Elm City Council has hired a new town manager who will take over tasks such as managing growth and putting together the budget when he begins Sept. 17.

Matt Mueller will take over for Doug Peach, who serves as interim town manager.

Mueller worked for a handful of Oklahoma cities in various positions including the city manager for Guthrie, deputy city manager for Claremore and management analyst in Edmond.

The previous town manager, Ivan Langford, resigned to accept a general manager position in Texas City to move closer to some of his family members.

As town manager, Mueller will serve as the chief administrative officer, making him responsible for executing town laws. His annual salary is expected to be about $126,900.

Mueller will also oversee a consolidated budget of more than $30 million, serving an 11 square-mile community of 28,000 residents.

Mueller has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Oklahoma.
