Blotter: Man at wrong apartment arrested on past warrants

A man was attempting to get into what he thought was his buddy’s apartment in the 500 block of South Interstate 35E but later found out from Denton police he didn’t have the right one.

The resident called police to report that a man he didn’t know was trying to break into his apartment around 5 a.m. Saturday.

Officers found the man asleep at the top of the stairs and asked him if he knew where he was. He said he was trying to get into his buddy’s apartment, which officers informed him was a floor below. The man apologized, according to the report.

The officer checked to see if the man had any warrants out for his arrest and found 15 from different cities, the report stated.

The man was arrested for the warrants.

Other report

2600 block of South Mayhill Road — A man said his wife assaulted him during an argument the couple had while driving home from a bar early Saturday morning, according to a Denton police report.

The husband told police the couple began arguing at the bar because he caught his wife in the bathroom with a bartender who she made out with previously. He said he was trying to ask her what she was doing and they finally left the bar to take some friends home.

On the way home, he told police, she started hitting him and yelling at him before biting his thumb, which was still bleeding when police arrived.

His wife also was making it difficult to drive, by putting the car into park, the husband reported.

The wife finally got out of the car and starting walking before eventually taking her pants off, he told police, adding that she acts like this when she drinks alcohol while taking anxiety medication.

The wife told police a similar story, saying she was mad and yelling.

The wife was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury family violence, the report stated.
