11 a.m. — Denton Area Retired School Personnel Association luncheon honoring new members at C.H. Collins Athletic Center, 1500 Long Road. Members will “meet and mingle” at 11 a.m., and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

7:30 a.m. — Bird walk led by Keith Lockhart at Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area. For bird watchers of all skill levels, ages 10 and older. Fee is $2, in addition to the regular gate fee of $5 per person. Reservations are suggested; call 972-219-3930. Front gate is at Jones Street and North Kealy Avenue in Lewisville.

8 a.m. — Friends of the Sanger Library annual book sale, with books for adults in the meeting room of the library, 501 Bolivar St., and children’s items at the gazebo in the nearby park. Items cost 50 cents to $1. All remaining inventory will be reduced to half price at 2 p.m. Teachers can shop for free books at 4 p.m., and anyone can shop for free books at 4:30 p.m.

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Geocaching event at the Isle du Bois Unit of Ray Roberts Lake State Park, on FM455, 10 miles east of I-35. Participants can bring their own GPS unit or borrow one from park staff. Free with regular park admission, which is $7 for ages 12 and older. Call 940-686-2148.
