Blotter: Man arrested after report of assault

A man is accused of pulling an 8-inch butcher knife out during an argument with a woman.

According to a Denton police report, the incident occurred outside a residence in the 1100 block of Autumn Oak Drive.

The man was booked into jail at 3 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of family violence assault and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond and on warrants, police said.

No injuries were reported.

4100 block of Kirkpatrick Lane — The Flower Mound Police Department arrested an 18-year-old woman Tuesday after she was linked to a bomb threat posted on Twitter.

Town Hall, the Shirley Voirin Social Senior Center and the Cross Timbers YMCA were evacuated by 1:30 p.m. after someone reported seeing a bomb threat posted on a local user’s Twitter account, according to a news release issued by the town.

Eastbound traffic on Cross Timbers Road was also temporarily diverted.

Upon investigation, Flower Mound police determined the threat was a hoax and made an arrest.

The woman was charged with making a terroristic threat, a Class A misdemeanor.

The buildings reopened an hour later and an investigation is ongoing.

10000 block of East U.S. Highway 380 — Denton County sheriff deputies responded to a Denton hospital at 7:22 p.m. Monday after a man claimed to have been assaulted by a co-worker.

The man said a co-worker had accused him of spraying water on his wife in the kitchen of an area restaurant. Deputies reported the victim received scratches, an abrasion to his left knee and a busted lip from the attack.

No arrests have been made.



From 7 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday:

•  Denton police took a total of 15 reports, including an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and several burglaries.

•  Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 605 service and officer initiated calls for the agencies they serve. Thirty-nine people were booked into the county jail.

•  Denton firefighters responded to 20 medical calls, two police matters, three alarms, one smoke detector activation, one public service, three vehicle incidents with injury, one vehicle incident with no injury and a natural gas leak.

Argyle firefighters responded to two traffic calls.

Aubrey firefighters responded to five medical, one sexual assault, one electrical fire, one smoke investigation, one structure fire and one domestic disturbance.

Justin firefighters responded to one medical, one grass fire and one vehicle unlock.

Krum firefighters responded to two medical calls.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to one alarm fire, four medical, one illegal burn, one fire structure, and one water main break.

Oak Point firefighters responded to one domestic disturbance.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to one structure fire, one medical call and one vehicle unlock.
