Carrollton police have made an arrest in connection with a weekend homicide. Nathanael Gehrer, 25, was arrested on a charge of capital murder Tuesday, according to police.

At 5:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of deceased man in his early 20s in the 2100 block of Placid Drive. Gehrer, a resident of the southern Dallas County town of Wilmer, is believed to have been an acquaintance of the victim, police said.

Police believe they know the victim’s identity, but the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office has not positively identified him because of aliases he had been using, according to a news release issued by the department.

The homicide occurred in the residence, police said.

Gehrer is being held at the Carrollton Municipal Jail. His bail has been set at $1 million.
