Blotter: Police arrest man, woman for drug possession

A Denton police officer who arrested a man and a woman Saturday on outstanding warrants found drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance during a routine search, resulting in additional charges for both, according to a police report.

The officer pulled over the vehicle at 9:39 p.m. in the 500 block of South Carroll Boulevard after a license check came back indicating outstanding warrants. The male driver and his female passenger both had outstanding warrants for littering and public intoxication, according to the report.

After arresting the couple, the officer searched them and found a glass marijuana pipe in the man’s pants pocket, the report stated. During a search of the vehicle, the officer located a meth pipe in a jacket inside the vehicle along with a baggie of methamphetamine, according to the report.

The man and woman were both charged with possession of a controlled substance, the report stated.

3500 block of Quail Creek Drive — A man told police that his car was vandalized at about 3 p.m. Saturday at a Denton apartment complex.

After the officer arrived on scene, the man told the officer that an unknown suspectdamaged the windshield of his car with what appeared to be a BB.
