Blotter: Roommates report apartment infestation

Two roommates reported to police that a former roommate left them a few unwanted going-away presents when he moved out recently.

At 5:27 p.m. Saturday, the two accused their former roommate of infesting their home with mice and insects before moving out. The incident was reported in the 2700 block of Colorado Boulevard at an apartment complex.

The two roommates also discovered that someone had placed mealworms inside their refrigerator, contaminating the stored food, according to a police report.

The roommates told police they wished to file criminal charges against their former roommate for intentionally or knowingly damaging or destroying their property.

According to the police report, the damaged property totaled at least $50 but less than $500.

The case is pending.


Other report

1300 block of Teasley Lane — Officers who responded to a suspicious-person call at 11:42 a.m. arrested a man for possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.

The man gave officers consent to search his belongings, and during the search, officers found drug paraphernalia in the man’s possession and placed him under arrest, the report stated.

Officers also seized a bicycle and a cellphone suspected of being stolen property, according to the report.
