A 22-year-old man died early Sunday morning after the vehicle he was driving rolled over and crashed into a ditch in Sanger.

Three other passengers in the vehicle were transported to local medical facilities after sustaining serious injuries, a Department of Public Safety spokesman said.

The accident happened in the 11600 block of FM2450. The driver, Colbey Parsons, of Iowa Park, died at scene at 2:56 a.m., Spokesman Lonny Haschel said.

Parsons was driving a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck, traveling north.

Haschel said for an unknown reason Parsons lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle struck a drainage culvert causing the truck to overturn.

Haschel said Parsons did not have a seat belt on at the time of the accident. Passenger Justin Coats, 23, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Kassie Horner and Ashlynn Bell, both 22, were transported to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton with non-life threatening injuries. According to Haschel’s report, both women had their seatbelts on.

The three passengers are from St. Jo, which is northwest of Sanger.

The crash is currently under investigation, Haschel said.
