Blotter: Man reports truck broken into at movie theater

A man reported to Denton police Sunday night that while he was in the movie theater for a couple hours, someone broke into his truck.

The man found the front passenger door of his truck unlocked, he told police.

He reported that he was sure he locked his truck, which was in the parking lot of the theater in the 2800 block of Wind River Lane.

The officer reported that the key lock appeared to have been punched to gain entry to the truck.

The man told police several items were missing from his truck, including a sub woofer, amp, cologne, two cellphones and a hat.

5000 block of Teasley Lane — A restaurant employee reported to Denton police Sunday that his car was broken into while he was at work.

He told police that when he left work, he found the window shattered and his glove box had been opened.

He reported that he was missing a phone charger, a GPS unit and papers from the glove box, including the owner’s manual.

4100 block of Interstate 35 — A man reported to Denton police Sunday that someone took his wallet from his motel room while he was sleeping.

He told police he thinks the housekeeper could have taken it from the table near the door where he left it, the police report states.



From 7 a.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday:

•  Denton police posted 11 reports online, including three burglaries, one unauthorized use of a vehicle, three thefts, two assaults and one criminal mischief report.

•  Thirty people were booked into the Denton County Jail.
