Two pedestrians in stable condition after Monday accident

LEWISVILLE -- Two pedestrians remain in stable condition at Parkland Memorial Hospital Tuesday after they were struck by a vehicle while they crossed Fox Avenue in Lewisville Monday evening, police said.

Lewisville said in a news release the pedestrians, ages 24 and 36, were crossing the street in the 1000 block of Fox where there was no crosswalk when an eastbound vehicle struck them.

The driver is not expected to face any charges because the pedestrians failed to yield the right of way, police said, and they believe alcohol was a contributing factor with the pedestrians.
