DHS reopened after brief lockdown

Denton High School was locked down for 30 minutes Friday morning after a teacher believed she heard a gunshot and a scream, Denton police said.

Officer Ryan Grelle said police received the call about 8:20 a.m., and school officials chose to lockdown the building, preventing anyone from going in or out. Police searched the building and property and found no evidence of any shooting. The school was re-opened at 8:50 a.m., Grelle said.
