DALLAS — The University of North Texas Board of Regents voted Friday to amend President Lane Rawlins’ contract.

The discussion during the regularly scheduled meeting was held in closed session.

In open session, the regents voted to give authority to Chancellor Lee Jackson “to finalize an amendment to Dr. Rawlins’ employment agreement consistent with the board’s discussion in executive session,” according to the agenda item.

Jackson said after the vote Friday that he would be meeting with Rawlins to discuss the details.

They will be “tweaking” his contract, Jackson said.

No further details were given.

Rawlins, who was not present at the meeting, declined to comment.

In August, the board extended his contract for two years. He has served as president since 2010.
