Blotter: Woman calls police after alleged enticement

Denton police responded to the 3000 block of Avon Street on Friday night after a woman reported someone tried to entice her grandchildren to leave their home, police said.

The grandmother, according to reports, was awarded primary guardianship of her 10- and 11-year-old granddaughters when their estranged mother contacted one of the girls against court orders.

The grandmother told police the mother knowingly tried to convince the grandchild to leave the home, police said.

200 block of West Collins Street — Police arrested a 27-year-old man after arriving to a fight call early Friday morning.

According to reports, the caller stated that there were two men fighting at a local towing location. The victim is 32 years old, police said.

3400 block of Joyce Lane — Police were dispatched to a burglary after 10 p.m. Friday, officials said. The victim reported the only thing missing was some paperwork and computer files deleted from her laptop, according to reports.



From 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday:

Sixty-three people were booked into Denton County Jail.

From March 31 to Thursday:

University of North Texas police made six arrests and responded to two vehicle crashes, one disorderly conduct call, two theft reports, one consumption of alcohol by minor report, one possession of alcohol by minor report, two criminal mischief reports, one suspicious activity incident and one medical call.

From March 31 to Saturday:

Texas Woman’s University police responded to 103 calls for service, eight reports, 10 escorts, 96 parking violations, 36 moving violations and six arrests.
