Blotter: Police respond to report of assault of teachers

Police responded to a report of a student assaulting two teachers Thursday morning in the 4400 block of Lakeview Boulevard.

The student, police said, was acting out in class and the teachers were trying to control him.

According to reports, one teacher was struck in the chest with the suspect’s hand and the other had their foot stomped on by the suspect.

The student was taken to Denton County Juvenile Detention.


Other reports

3800 block of Camelot Street — An 18-year-old ended up locked out of his home and in the backyard Friday afternoon after a dispute with his brother, police said.

Police responded after 3 p.m. Friday when the victim called to report that his brother had hit him.

No arrests have been made and police are investigating, records show.

1900 block of North Elm Street — A mother discovered her car window shattered and her purse missing after dropping off her child shortly before 9 a.m. Friday morning.

Police said the woman left her car for five minutes.

Seventy people were booked into Denton County Jail.

From 7 a.m. Sunday, April 7, to 7 a.m. Saturday:

Texas Woman’s University police responded to 115 calls for service, 14 reports, seven escorts, 64 parking violations, 38 moving violations and two arrests.

From 7 a.m. Sunday, April 7, through Thursday:

University of North Texas police responded to one criminal trespass warning, one minor crash, one arrest for possession of controlled substance, three outside agency warrant arrests, two assaults, one public intoxication arrest, assisted one K-9 unit, responded to one criminal mischief call, made one incident report, made one arrest for theft and one for evading arrest.
