A woman told police Saturday that she had waited for more than a month to report that $27,100 was missing from her residence in the 4500 block of Interstate 35, according to a police report.
The report didn’t state why the woman waited so long to report the crime, or why she had that much cash in her home.
The woman told police the theft took place between March 26 and 28 and that she believes a person who works at her apartment complex took the money, according to the report.
She told police that she allows that person to assist her with grocery shopping and other errands. The victim said she did not believe that anyone else had been in her residence.
No arrest had been made at the time the report was filed.
600 block of North Austin Street — An intoxicated man climbed up the side of a building to a balcony and began knocking on the door of an apartment trying to gain entrance on Saturday, according to a police report.
A police officer got the man off the balcony and searched the man’s pockets. The officer found a syringe and small baggie with a drug the officer believed to be methamphetamine, according to the police report.
The man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
120 block of Avenue A — A police officer was flagged down by a person who reported that an intoxicated man was causing a disturbance Saturday afternoon, according to a police report.
The officer found the man and arrested him for public intoxication. During a search of the man’s pockets, the officer found a handgun, and the suspect was also charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun.
200 block of Inman Street — Several police officers responded to a report that a man was displaying a gun, according to a police report.
When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect attempted to flee in a vehicle.
The officers pulled the man over and arrested him for disorderly conduct and displaying a gun, the report stated.
