Blotter: Convenience store owner reports beer stolen

Denton police are still looking for a suspect who went on a literal beer run Sunday night. Officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the 1600 block of East McKinney where the owner reported someone had taken beer from inside. The owner stated that the suspect grabbed two 24-packs of beer and then ran out the door, the report said.

The area was searched and no suspect was found.

2800 block of Fort Worth Drive — Officers responded to an assault call where a man reported the mother of his children assaulted him because she was upset about him going out of town recently to visit his mother.

500 block of Inman Street — A man reported that his ex-girlfriend grabbed him and would not let him go. She then chased him around the parking lot ripping his shirt off and hitting him with various items. The victim then struck the suspect in the face after allegedly being hit in the head with a water bottle.

Denton firefighters responded to 70 medical calls, three motor vehicle accidents with no injuries, one alarm malfunction, one gas leak, one smoke scare, one oil or other combustible liquid spill, three good-intent calls, three police matters, one building fire, one medical assist call, one unauthorized burning, one outside rubbish fire, one hazmat release investigation, one vehicle accident with injuries and one call to assist an invalid.
