Blotter: Caller reports four men allegedly breaking lights

A caller reported to police that he saw four men breaking lights around his apartment complex early Saturday morning in the 400 block of Bernard Street, according to a police report.

When officers arrived, they found the four men, who attempted to leave, according to the report.

The men were detained while police investigated the incident.

According to the police report, two of the men were arrested for public intoxication, and the other two men were released.

The case was closed by arrest.

200 block of East Prairie Street A police officer pulled a car over for exceeding the posted speed limit Saturday night, but according to the police report, speeding was the least of the driver’s worries.

After initiating the stop, the police officer asked for the driver’s proof of insurance, but when the driver reached to pull his insurance card out of his glove box, drug paraphernalia fell out.

Additionally, the driver and the passenger were arrested for warrants and the driver was issued a citation for the drug paraphernalia, according to the police report.

The case was closed by arrest.

700 block of Londonderry Lane — A woman reported to police that she was attacked by her ex-boyfriend Saturday morning, according to a police report.

The woman told police that her ex-boyfriend struck her several times in the face, causing her pain and visible injuries, according to the report.

The victim also told police her ex-boyfriend attempted to choke and stab her during the assault.

No arrests had been made at the time the report was filed by police, but the case is still pending, according to the report.
