Blotter: Man charged in shooting

A 27-year-old Denton man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after shooting another man in the chest, police said.

Ryan Grelle, spokesman for Denton police, said the two men got into an argument for an unknown reason Monday night in the 500 block of North Mayhill Road.

The 27-year-old reportedly pulled out a pistol and shot the other man once in the chest before fleeing the scene.

The man who was shot was transported to an area hospital where he remains in intensive care, Grelle said.

The case remains under investigation.
