Blotter: Denton police arrest two men on drug charges

Denton police arrested two men Monday afternoon after they were allegedly caught with drugs inside their vehicle at the intersection of Audra Lane and Lattimore Street, reports state.

According to police reports, a registration check showed a warrant hit on the vehicle. Police said the driver did not have a valid driver’s license or ID card and consented to a search of the vehicle.

While conducting the search, an officer discovered a digital scale, several grams of methamphetamine, packaging material, another scale and a small amount of marijuana, police reports state.

Police said the two men, ages 26 and 40, were charged with manufacture or delivery of a substance in penalty group 1.

2900 block of Briercliff Drive — An 18-year-old man was arrested on a charge of burglary of a habitation after 8 p.m. Monday. According to Denton police reports, a family called authorities after they discovered several electronic items were missing when they returned home.

The man is reported to have come through the back door.

400 block of North Bradshaw Street — Police took a report from a 44-year-old woman who said she was the victim of theft Monday afternoon. Reports show the woman said someone got into her unlocked vehicle Sunday night and took her purse.

Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 684 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve. Thirty-nine people were booked into Denton County Jail.

Denton police responded to 296 calls and posted 23 reports online.

Denton firefighters responded to 19 medical calls, one unauthorized burning, two vehicle accidents and one good-intent call.

Argyle firefighters responded to one medical call and one traffic incident. Argyle police responded to one medical call, one ordinance violation, one loose livestock call, one welfare concern and 13 traffic calls.

Aubrey firefighters responded to one smoke investigation, two medical calls and one traffic incident. Aubrey police responded to 10 traffic calls.

Bartonville police responded to three traffic calls.

Corinth police assisted one motorist and responded to one illegal dumping, one road blockage, four suspicious activity calls, 37 traffic calls, one traffic complaint, one noise complaint, one domestic disturbance, three animal complaints and one vehicle fire.

Double Oak police responded to four traffic calls.

Hickory Creek police assisted one agency and responded to one criminal mischief report, two road blockages, one auto theft, nine traffic calls, one traffic transport incident and one animal bite report.

Justin firefighters responded to one odor investigation and two medical calls. Justin police assisted one agency and responded to one road blockage and one theft report.

Krum firefighters responded to three medical calls. Krum police assisted one agency and responded to one illegal dumping, one traffic call, one welfare concern and one animal complaint.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to one assault or sexual assault, one vehicle fire and one medical call.

Little Elm firefighters responded to one carbon monoxide or hazardous materials call, one water main break, one welfare concern, one odor investigation and five medical calls. Little Elm police responded to one auto theft, one burglary in progress, four burglary reports, one Child Protective Services referral, one criminal mischief report, two disturbance calls, one noise complaint, one ordinance violation, one prowler, three reckless drivers, two road blockages, one medical call, 11 traffic calls, one welfare concern, two traffic transport incidents and one animal complaint.

Lewisville police made four arrests.

Northeast police responded to one road blockage, six traffic calls, one welfare concern and assisted two motorists.

Northlake police assisted two agencies and responded to one traffic transport incident, four traffic calls, two loose livestock calls and one vehicle complaint.

Oak Point assisted one agency and responded to one assault, one forgery and four traffic calls.

Ponder firefighters responded to one illegal burn. Ponder police responded to one traffic call.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to one medical call. Pilot Point police responded to one criminal mischief report, one forgery call, one theft report and one animal complaint.

Roanoke firefighters responded to one traffic transport incident.

Sanger firefighters responded to two traffic transport incidents, one assault or sexual assault and two medical calls. Sanger police responded to two disturbance calls, one intoxicated person, one road blockage, one theft report, two traffic calls, one welfare concern and one traffic transport incident.

Trophy Club firefighters assisted one citizen. Trophy Club police assisted two motorists and responded to five traffic calls, one animal bite report and three animal complaints.
