The United Way of Denton County’s annual United Tribute gala was the place to be on Jan. 18. Officials announced that more than $2.2 million had been raised for the nonprofit agency last year, an increase of more than 7 percent over the previous campaign. But it may have been the Dancing With the Stars-style competition featuring local faces that captured the attention of many gala attendees last weekend at the Marriott Hotel & Golf Club at Champions Circle in Fort Worth.
