Guyer, Ryan reunited in District 5-6A

Denton will play in District 5-5A

The Guyer Wildcats and the Ryan Raiders are back in the same district together after the University Interscholastic League announced its 2014-2015 realignment Monday morning.

The UIL announced enrollment figure back in December that they use to determine classifications, so it was clear then that Guyer would join Ryan in the UIL's largest classification.

Guyer and Ryan will be playing in District 5-6A along with Keller, Keller Central, Keller Fossil Ridge, Keller Timber Creek, Northwest and Trophy Club Byron Nelson.

The Denton Broncos will be playing out of District 5-5A with Azle, Forth Worth Boswell, Fort Worth Brewer, Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Rider and Saginaw Chisholm Trail.

Lake Dallas, who had previously been a member of the same district with Denton and Guyer, will now play out of District 6-5A with Forth Worth Carter-Riverside, Fort Worth Dunbar, Fort Worth Eastern Hills, Forth Worth Polytechnic, Grapevine and  North Richland Hills Birdville.

Beginning is 2014, Class 4A (the old Class 3A) will be split into Division I and Division II.

Due to the realignment, an old Denton County rivalry has been reinstated with the Argyle Eagles and Sanger Indians now part of District 6-4A-D1. Joining them is Carrollton Ranchview, Dallas Carter, Dallas Pinkston and Wilmer-Hutchins.

In Class 4A, Division II, Aubrey and Krum will be in District 3-4A-D2 along with Bridgeport, Celina, Anna and Bonham.

In the Class 3A Division I, the Ponder Lions will be in District 4-3A woth Breckenridge, Bowie, Boyd, Paradise and Brock.

Pilot Point will be in District 5-3A with Callisburg, Pottsboro, Whitesboro, Farmersville and Van Alstyne.

The realignment changes for basketball and all spring sports in Class 4A and below. In Class 4A, Argyle, Aubrey, Sanger and Krum will be part of District 9-4A, along with Celina and Gainesville.

In Class 3A, Ponder and Pilot Point will be members of District 10-3A along with Callisburg, Gunter, Howe, Pottsboro and S&S.
