Revelers let the good times roll for a good cause on Feb. 15 with a Mardi Gras Ball to raise funds for scholarships and an endowment for the Denton African American Scholarship Foundation. The ball at the Center for the Visual Arts included Cajun food and music by Jay B and the Zydeco Posse. Since 1984, the foundation has given more than $340,000 to 300 students attending high school in Denton. To be eligible, students must be of African-American descent and going on to pursue post-secondary studies.
