Blotter: Woman reports father assaulted her girlfriend

An argument erupted Saturday night in the 3000 block of Augusta Drive after someone decided to add ice to a pot of freshly boiled tea, according to a police report.

According to the report, a woman reported her father assaulted her and her girlfriend for no reason.

However, the father told police his daughter’s girlfriend was yelling at his wife, and when he told her to stop, she allegedly punched him in the left eye, the report stated.

The officer was able to see bruising near the father’s eye, and also observed injuries to the mother, according to the report.

After an investigation, the officer determined the altercation apparently resulted from someone putting ice into a pot of tea.

The woman who allegedly punched the father said the man got in her face first and attempted to assault her, which caused her to react.

All parties had some minor red marks on them, but the father, mother and girlfriend all advised they did not want to file a report or press charges.
