Blotter: Sanger resident reports being assaulted

A 19-year-old Sanger resident told Denton police Friday night that she had been assaulted in the 900 block of Bernard Street.

Police said the complainant reported that she was lying down asleep when someone woke her up by grabbing her ankles.

The assailant slammed her into a wall, punched her numerous times and choked her to the point that she was unable to breathe, she told police.

The suspect’s relationship with the victim was unavailable and an offense report was made, according to reports.

900 block of West Prairie Street — A 25-year-old man reported he was robbed early Friday morning. Police said that at 4:46 a.m. the man reported two men he had met the evening before assaulted him and took his wallet and medication. No arrests have been made, according to reports.

1200 block of West Hickory Street — A naked man found walking through a Denton neighborhood was charged with alcohol public intoxication Friday afternoon. Police were called to locate an unruly person who had been escorted from a bar at 1:49 p.m., according to a police report. The 38-year-old man was later found walking around naked in a nearby neighborhood and brought to the city jail, police said.

Thirty-eight people were booked into Denton County Jail.

From Sunday, April 27 to Saturday:

Texas Woman’s University police responded to 55 calls for service, made three reports, three escorts, issued 23 moving violations and made three arrests.

From Sunday, April 27 to Thursday:

University of North Texas police responded to five medical calls, three accidents, one harassment call, issued four criminal trespass warnings, issued two municipal citations for possession of drug paraphernalia, made two driving while intoxicated arrests, responded to one assault and one burglary, made one criminal trespass arrest and assisted two agencies.
