Victim’s body found at Lewisville Lake

A Lewisville Fire Department dive team recovered the body of a man from Lewisville Lake near Westlake Park on Sunday afternoon, Game Warden Daron Blackerby said.

The victim, a 44-year-old resident of The Colony, was aboard a boat when he reportedly went into the lake to recover an object that fell overboard, Blackerby said. When the victim was unable to retrieve the object as it floated away, he attempted to return to the boat but was unable to do so, the game warden said.

The call was reported at 3:45 p.m., and the victim’s body was recovered at about 4:45 p.m. The victim was not wearing a life jacket, Blackerby said.

His name was not released Sunday night.
