Fourth of July Events


Denton Fourth of July Family Fun Jubilee

On the downtown Square, 100 W. Hickory St., and at Quakertown Park and the Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St.

7:30 a.m. — Liberty Fun Run 5K/1 Mile Walk starts at North Lakes Recreation Center, 2001 W. Windsor Drive.

8 a.m. — Parade lineup starts at the downtown Wells Fargo parking lot (access is from Hickory and Mulberry streets near Austin Street), with judging at 8:30 a.m.

9 a.m. — Yankee Doodle Parade begins on the Square, led by Olympic short-track speedskating silver medalist Jordan Malone. Free.

About 9:30 a.m. — Yankee Doodle Parade ends at the Denton Civic Center and City Hall parking lot, and concludes with a flag ceremony. Fourth of July Family Fun Jubilee and live entertainment begin. Entry drop-off for the children’s arts and crafts show starts at the Civic Center. Free.

10:30 a.m. to noon — Free children’s carnival in the Civic Center. Children’s arts and crafts show starts at 11 a.m.

10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Denton Senior Center holiday luncheon with musical guest Young at Heart band. Admission is $3.

Noon to 6 p.m. — Civic Center Pool in Quakertown Park is open with $1 admission.

Twilight Tunes

About 10 a.m. — J.R. Byrd, a Denton blues-rock-pop artist, performs a free morning concert on the lawn of the Courthouse on the Square, 110 W. Hickory St., after the downtown parade.

Fourth of July

Morning Western Swing Dance

10 a.m. — Bonnie and Nick Norris concert at Dan’s Silverleaf, 103 Industrial St. Free.

Denton Kiwanis Club Fireworks Show

UNT’s Apogee Stadium, 1251 S. Bonnie Brae St. at I-35E. Parking is at Apogee Stadium and Fouts Field, off I-35E and North Texas Boulevard. Admission is free, but parking costs $5 per vehicle. No coolers or outside food in the stadium; concessions will be available for sale.

5:30 p.m. — Gates open.

6:35 p.m. — Raised Right Men perform.

7:50 p.m. — The Denton Kiwanis Club welcomes attendees.

8 p.m. — Color guard and national anthem

8:15 p.m. — Stage Fright performs.

9:45 to 10:15 p.m. — Fireworks show


Robson Ranch Fourth of July

Robson Ranch, 9501 Ed Robson Blvd. in Denton.

9 a.m. — Community parade featuring floats, vintage cars, convertibles, motorcycles, bedecked golf carts, bikes and wagons. About 450 military veterans will march down Ed Robson Boulevard. Free.

7 p.m. — Denton Community Band concert at the Robson Ranch Clubhouse. Tickets cost $10 at the door.

Lake Cities Fourth of July Celebration

Lake Dallas City Park, at East Hundley Drive and North Shady Shores Road. Visit . Free.

9 a.m. — Patriotic Parade starts at the park, goes down to Main Street and returns to the park.

After the parade — Celebration at the park features a free kids’ zone, horseback rides, flag ceremony and live music, including Ranee and the True Tones, Jade Nikol and Brandon Sarver. Talent show, watermelon eating contest, apple pie bake-off and fireworks. Evening music features Def Leggend and Eleven Hundred Springs.

About 9:15 p.m. — Fireworks show begins at dark.

Pilot Point Independence Day

On the downtown Pilot Point square, around Liberty, Prairie and Main streets. Free.

7:45 a.m. — Parade lineup at Pilot Point Intermediate School, 114 S. Harrison St.

8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. — Art show by Pilot Point public school students at the Pilot Point Community Opera House, 110 S. Washington St.

9 a.m. — Fourth of July parade around the square.

Freedomfest at Rancho de la Roca

Rancho de la Roca, 2459 Blackjack Road in Aubrey. Admission is $7 per person ages 4 and older. All proceeds benefit local and global ministries.

5:30 p.m. — Gates open. Families can use paddle boats, canoes, inflatables for all ages, mechanical bull, carnival rides and rock wall. Live music, children’s train and kids’ crafts. Chick’n Coop Cafe sells concessions.

9:45 p.m. — Fireworks show

Red White & Lewisville

9:30 p.m. — Fireworks show outside Vista Ridge Mall, 2401 S. Stemmons Freeway. Recommended viewing area is the south side of the mall. Free.


Lake Ray Roberts Marina Fireworks

After dark — Fireworks are launched from the trailer yard of Lake Ray Roberts Marina, 1339 Marina Circle in Sanger. Entry fee is $5 per car.
