Blotter: Man tells police three people assaulted him

A 31-year-old Krum man came to the Denton Police Department on Wednesday alleging that he had been assaulted by his brother-in-law, sister-in-law and another person on Saturday and wanted to file a report.

The man told police that at the time of the assault he did not wish to file charges but later changed his mind.

An assault report was taken.

1000 block of West University Drive — Denton police officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. The caller reported that a friend texted from that location to tell her that her ex-boyfriend had kicked in her door, reports state.

Upon arrival, officers found the door kicked open and the room unoccupied. The victim was located but the suspect had left the scene, reports state. A report was taken for assault and criminal mischief.

600 block of Fort Worth Drive — Officers responded to the theft of a silver 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe used as a loaner vehicle by a local auto body shop.

The shop reported that the vehicle and a set of keys were missing.


From 7 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday:

Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 725 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve, and 44 people were booked into Denton County Jail.

Denton police posted 25 reports online.

Denton firefighters responded to 12 medical calls, a gas leak, a system malfunction, a cooking fire and two public service calls.
