Denton businessman dies while on vacation

Jeff Miller, co-owner of Lone Star Fence & Supply in Denton, died Monday in a snorkeling accident in Cozumel, Mexico.

Zach Miller said his father, mother and another couple were on a short vacation at the time of the accident.

Jeff Miller, who would have been 63 years old Thursday, was snorkeling when he was struck by either a boat or a personal watercraft, Zach Miller said.

“We’re not a 100 percent sure right now,” Zach Miller said about the accident. “They aren’t even back yet.”

He said his father’s body would arrive today and his mother will be back home Saturday.

Zach Miller said he did not really have words at the moment about the passing of his father, with whom he has owned Lone Star Fence since 2011.

Previously the business was known as Hurricane Fence, with Jeff Miller and his father as the owners.

Zach Miller said services are pending with Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors.
