Blotter: Police left with questions after assault call

Officers were dispatched to Denton Regional Medical Center in reference to an assault report.

The assault occurred at a residence in the 500 block of Ruth Street at an unknown time Tuesday morning. The victim reported that her roommate struck her in the head with a rolling pin, causing a laceration that required staples.

Statements from the victim and suspect were inconsistent and did not match the evidence at the scene, the report said. Written statements and photographs were collected and the incident was documented. There was no probable cause for an arrest.
