A 64-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault and interference with an emergency call in the 1500 block of Creek Avenue after he reportedly hurt his 56-year-old wife and took away her cellphone during an argument.
The police report said the suspect “caused [his wife] pain,” but it did not elaborate on the nature of the assault. When police questioned the suspect, he was not truthful about the incident, the report said.
He was later booked into Denton City Jail.
3000 block of Pecan Tree Drive — A 48-year-old man told police Tuesday afternoon someone spray-painted his wife’s car overnight, causing an estimated $2,000 worth of damage.
The police report said the spray paint was white. A 51-year-old woman in the same neighborhood in the 1200 block of Nora Lane filed a similar report with police on Tuesday. She said someone vandalized her car with white spray paint, causing an estimated $500 worth of damage.
300 block of West Eagle Drive — A 26-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana, according to a police report.
The man also had five outstanding warrants from Denton County Sheriff’s Office and the Rockwall Police Department for driving without a license, failure to identify, theft between $50 and $500, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear in court, the report said.
9100 block of Teasley Lane — A $300 gun cabinet reportedly was stolen Tuesday night from a flatbed trailer. The police report said the gun cabinet was empty. The trailer also was loaded with furniture, the report said.

Denton County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers handled 853 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve, and 35 people were booked into Denton County Jail.
