One man is in custody after Denton police say he barricaded himself in a house in 3200 block of Wagon Trail Drive with a woman and two small children.

The Denton Police Department's tactical unit is investigating a man who has barricaded himself inside a home with a rifle in the 3200 block of Wagon Trail Drive, according to police.

Police do not know if anyone else is in the home, and they could not provide specific identifying information for the man or the weapon. Department spokesperson Shane Kizer said police believe the man lives at the residence.

Police received the initial call of a domestic disturbance at about 1:40 p.m., and police negotiators tried to contact the man at about 5 p.m., Kizer said.
