The inside lanes on northbound Interstate 35 at West Oak Street are closed after an 18-wheeler crashed into the median this morning.
The 63-year-old driver, who was not injured in the wreck, claims the truck had a mechanical failure. But Denton police spokesman Bryan Cose said officers are still investigating the accident.
Denton police received the first call about the wreck at 10:44 a.m. Cose estimated that the truck, which is designed to carry grain, will be removed from the barrier within the next hour.
Total cleanup time is estimated to take several hours, he said.
