Class on how to make rain barrels set

Locals can learn how to harvest and utilize rainwater next week as part of a gardening secrets class called "Saving for a Rainy Day: DIY Making a Rain Barrel," hosted by Keep Lewisville Beautiful, the city of Lewisville and Texas A&M AgriLife's Water University. 

Participants will get to build their own 55-gallon rain barrel and learn how to effectively use and store collected rainwater. The class will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater complex in Classroom One, located at 100 N. Charles St. in Lewisville. Participants must RSVP and pay $30 to cover costs of supplies, and seating is limited to the first 30 households who sign up.
