DCTA to provide shuttle service during annual balloon festival

The Denton County Transportation Authority will provide a complementary shuttle to attendees of the Highland Village Lions Club Balloon Festival later this month.

The festival will run from Friday, Aug. 18 to Sunday, Aug. 20 at Unity Park in Highland Village. The DCTA shuttle will operated from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, but not Sunday.

One bus will run from the Highland Village/Lewisville Lake Station to Briarhill Middle School every 20 minutes. Another bus will run from Marcus High School in Flower Mound to Briarhill every 10 minutes.

Festival patrons are encouraged to park at the Old Town or MedPark Stations and ride the A-train because of limited parking at the Highland Village/Lewisville Lake Station. The A-train does not operate on Sunday.

In its 30th year, the festival will feature hot air balloons, a kid play zone, petting zoo, live music, food and a car show. For more information, go to www.lionsballoonfest.com.
