Denton police have obtained an arrest warrant for Everett Parker, a 24-year-old man who is accused of smashing a glass bottle against another man's face on Aug. 19 at Fry Street Tavern in the 100 block of Avenue A, according to department spokesman Bryan Cose.
Parker's attorney told investigators that Parker would turn himself in Tuesday morning, according to Cose. He said Parker is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second-degree felony.
Denton police initially had some trouble identifying the suspect, who is seen on video surveillance footage smashing the bottle against another man's face about 2 a.m.
The man can be seen walking out of the bar about 30 seconds later, while the victim was taken to a hospital with facial injuries, Cose said. He said the attack was unprovoked. No arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon.
