Oaktopia is moving to Deep Ellum this year.

The award-winning Denton music festival announced in March that it might move to Deep Ellum when it amicably parted ways with Argyle businessman John "Sparky" Pearson, the key investor in the festival.

Festival officials announced Monday that it has partnered with Trees Dallas, Canton Hall and the Bomb Factory to stage this year's festival on Nov. 17-18.

For the last several years, Oaltopia filled downtown Denton with rock, pop, hip-hop and folk music for three days in September. The event attracted thousands of music fans, and also presented a small comedy showcase.

The major acts announced Monday are 21 Savage, Phantogram, Atrak, Com Truise, Azizi Gibson and more. Festival officials said on social media that Denton acts will play the festival, and that more announcements are forthcoming.
