Blotter: Denton police report two assaults on otherwise quiet Christmas

Denton police responded to two unrelated assault calls involving three victims on an otherwise quiet Christmas Day, according to police reports. 

Police received the first call about noon, when a 39-year-old man said his ex-wife slapped him at his south Denton home in the 3900 block of Overlake Drive. Police took the report but did not make any arrests. 

About 10 p.m. on the opposite side of town, a 24-year-old man was accused of assaulting his mother and girlfriend at a home in the 3300 block of Brook Street. He had to be physically restrained, according to the police report. 

That man eventually was arrested and taken to Denton City Jail on a charge of assault family violence. 

Other reports 

1000 block of Vine Street — A car seat was stolen from a 62-year-old man's front porch on Monday in central Denton, according to police. No arrests were made. 

1000 block of Vine Street  — An older model Dodge Durango was stolen from a north Denton home between Friday and Monday afternoon, police said. The 69-year-old victim didn't know exactly when the theft occurred, but she wanted to press charges, according to the report.

From 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Tuesday:

 Ten people were booked into Denton County Jail.

Denton police handled 72 calls for service and made three arrests.
