The Denton Area Retired School Personnel Association recently presented two Denton ISD schools a donation of nearly 740 books.
The association presented Tomas Rivera Elementary School with 641 books for students. Principal Roshaunda Thomas accepted the donation on behalf of the school, according to Lucretia Jones, a representative of the retired personnel association. The Ann Windle School got 97 books. Principal Angela Hellman accepted the donation.
"What a wonderful way to end the first semester as the children got into the holiday spirit," Jones said.
The book drive is a statewide Texas Retired Teachers Association project that results in thousands of book donations each year.
