A man survived a rollover crash Thursday afternoon after his pickup veered through a guardrail on Interstate 35E near State School Road, according to Denton police spokesman Shane Kizer.
The man, who has not been identified, walked away from his badly-damaged overturned vehicle after the crash, Kizer said. He was taken to Medical City Denton for injuries that weren't life-threatening, Kizer said.
Kizer said the man was driving along southbound I-35E when his truck hit the guardrail at about 1 p.m. The vehicle went airborne before it rolled several times, eventually coming to a stop in an area near the frontage road, Kizer said.
Kizer didn't know whether distracted driving or intoxication led to the crash. Witnesses saw the man crawl out of the pickup and walk to a nearby Exxon convenience store before paramedics arrived.
