In observance of Memorial Day, federal, state, Denton County and city offices are closed Monday. There will be no Denton County Transportation Authority bus or rail service Monday, and most public and private school facilities are closed.
Also closed Monday are Denton public libraries and recreation centers.
There are some Denton facilities open for the holiday.
The North Lakes Driving Range is open for business from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
For residents looking to enjoy some water activities Monday, the Denton Natatorium is open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., Water Works Park is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the Civic Center Pool is open from noon to 6 p.m. Admission for the aquatic centers is available at http://bit.ly/2s0tQqG.
There is no trash, recycling or yard waste collection Monday, and all collections are being moved forward a day, according to city officials. For example, waste generally picked up Monday will be collected Tuesday.
The city landfill is open from 7 a.m. to noon Monday.
City officials encourage residents with a utility emergency to call 940-349-7000 and those with a public safety emergency call 911. For non-emergencies, call the Denton Police Department at 940-349-8181 .
Denton Enterprise Airport administrative offices are closed Monday. However, the airfield will remain open around the clock. From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, flight services and the air traffic control tower will be open.
Through 10 p.m. Tuesday, construction road closures along Interstate 35 and Interstate 35E will be curtailed and there "will be no major main lane or ramp closures on the project," according to 35Express officials. For alerts on upcoming closures, visit http://35express.org
