Elva Genette Wilks Coffman
Elva Genette Wilks Coffman, 67, of Wichita Falls, TX passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011 in Mena, AR at home with her family. She was born April 5, 1943 in Ardmore, OK to William Weldon and Eula Geneva Wilks.She was a member of the Baptist Church and a Cosmetologist.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Weldon Wilks. Mrs. Coffman is survived by a daughter, Leah Wilks of Wichita Falls, TX and a son, Chris Ridley and wife, Brenda of Mena, AR; one sister, Marcielle Walker and husband, Don of Nacogdoches, TX; six grandchildren, one great grandchild, several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, TXwith Rev. Sam Redfearn, officiating. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, TX are in charge of arrangements.
Lela Mae "Kirby" Knight Lela Mae "Kirby" Knight
Long time resident of Hilltop Commons in Grass Valley, Kirby Knight passed away on March 17, 2011. She was born Lela Mae Kirby in Frederick, OK on August 19, 1913. Her family moved to Denton, TX shortly afterward where she attended Denton High School and graduated from North Texas State University. She taught 6th grade for 35 years before retiring.
She married Lynn Knight, also of Denton, on October 9, 1937. They were married 56 years when Lynn died on December 1, 1993. In 1997, she moved to Grass Valley, CA where she lived in Hilltop Commons for 14 years. She really enjoyed her dining table group, playing cards and watching T.V. with her friends.
She is survived by her daughters Susan Knight Panzica of Penn Valley, CA and Sally Knight Budke of Stamford, CT, their husbands Richard Panzica and Robert Budke, her 3 grandchildren Michael and Stacy Panzica and Eric Budke, and 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers her family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142 and Hospice of the Foothills 11270 Rough and Ready Hwy., Grass Valley, CA 95945.
There will be a Memorial Service for her at Hilltop Commons on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 1pm.
We will all miss Kirby's friendly smile, sunny disposition, and especially her quick wit.
Sherill L. Allen
Sherill L. Allen, 64 of Corinth, TX, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2011 at Texas Health-Plano Presbyterian Hospital Plano, TX after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on February 23, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to John Wayne and Mary Louise (Burke) McQueary.She married Don W. Allen on June 7, 1969 in St. Louis, MO.She was a 1965 graduate of Mercy High School and a 1969 graduate of Fontbonne College.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Chapel in Denton. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30pm.A funeral service was previously held on Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Creve Coeur, MO, burial followed at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
She is survived by her husband, Don Allen of Corinth, TX; one son, Cory Allen of Cedar Rapids, IA; one sister, Dona McQueary of Orlando, FL; and cousin, Bartley Burke of St. Louis, MO.

Grady Clark Baker Grady Clark Baker
Grady C. Baker, 93, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, TX. He was born in Winters, TX on February 1, 1918 to Robert F. and Lucy Kate Arnold Baker.Grady received a Masters of Education from McMurry University in Abilene, TX. He served in World War II in the U.S. Navy as a signalman third class.He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bronte, TX. Mr. Baker worked in the Texas Education System for 37 years and retired as an administrator to pursue his passion in cattle ranching in Dublin, TX.
He married Laura Adelle Dixon on May 31, 1947 in Vernon, TX. They moved to Denton on February 1, 1981.Mr. Baker was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Adelle Baker of Denton; one son, Randall Clark Baker and his wife, Cindee of San Antonio, TX; one daughter, Melinda Kay Hale of Crowley, TX; four grandsons, Jeremy and Austin Baker and Chris and Cody Hale.His parents and one brother, William Garland Baker preceded him in death.A memorial service will be held at 10am, Friday, March 25, 2011 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Denton, TX.
Interment will be at Erath Gardens of Memory in Stephenville, TX at a later date.The family wishes his memory to be honored with donations to Asbury United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.

Ernestine Sue Q. Garrett,84 of Denton, passed away on March 18, 2011 at her home.She was born July 7, 1926 in Sweetwater, TXto Paul T. and Elvira C. (Ellis) Quast. She was a retired Secretary and a member of the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Robison Ranch Women's Club. Her passions included cooking, reading, music and traveling. She was married to Jerry Garrett on July 6, 1946 in Sweetwater, TX. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the Texas State Teacher's College (now UNT).
Mrs. Garrett is survived by her husband, Jerry Garrett of Denton, TX; daughters, Amy Kislingbury of Flower Mound, TX and Betsy Garrett of London, England; son Brent Garrett of Louisville, KY and nine grandchildren, Kyle, Lauren, Katherine, Benjamin, Daniel, Timothy, Justin, Aspen and Sierra.She was preceded in death by a son, Austin Garrett.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm at Robison Ranch Clubhouse on Sunday, March 27, 2011.The family willhave a visitation on Saturday, March 26, 2011at Mulkey- Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Margrett Drucilla Dotson Hale
Margrett Drucilla Dotson Hale passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Senior Care Center in Denton. She was born April 24, 1923, in Aubrey to Gregory and Emma Whitted Dotson. She was preceded in death (1999) by her husband, Floyd M. Hale whom she married on October 3, 1942 in Gainesville, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Krum where she was involved in Church activities and Gospel music. She was a Cook at the Denton State School.After retirement in 1987, she went to work for the Denton ISD until 1998.
The family was at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday night from 6 to 8pm for visitation. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev.'s Lonnie Dotson and Carl Lane officiating. Burial will be at the Jackson Cemetery in Krum, TX.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Linda M. Estrada and Charlotte Turner of Krum, 4 sons, Larry of New Fairview, Frankie of Whitesboro, Russell of Oak Ridge TN, Phillip of Dallas and 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gregory and Emma Dotson, sisters, Mildred and Louise, brothers, Elba, Raymond, J.D., Amos, Lewis, Marvin, J.W. and Billie Frank.

Jeanene Marie Camplin Moorman, 60, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at her home in Sanger, TX. She was born February 5, 1951 in Oakland, CA to Meredith and Helen Taaffe Camplin. She was a Diagnostician Aide at Calhoun Middle School in Denton. She married the love of her life, Robert D. Moorman on January 29, 1972 and was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Viewing will be Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1801 Malone, Denton from 6:30 - 9:00pm.Funeral service will be Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 10am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint, 1801 Malone, Denton, with Bishop Brian Rothlisberger officiating. Burial will follow at Sanger Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Moorman of Sanger; daughters, Jennifer Beech and husband, Kevin of Murphy, Helene Andrew and husband, Justin of Oakley, ID, Jayne Klingler and husband, Jonathan of Keller; brothers, Mike Camplin and wife, Joan of Canyon Country, CA, Greg Camplin of Newhall, CA and 9 grandchildren.

Bennie Joe Braley
Bennie Joe Braley, 74, of Justin, died Friday March 18, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Braley was born on November 21, 1936 in Simms, TX to Roy and Ruby (Kemp) Braley. He was married to Janis Fuller on March 15, 1971 in Durant, OK. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired machinist and raised rabbits for 4-H projects in North Texas for over 20 years. He attended Denton County Cowboy Church, and lived in Justin for twenty seven years.
Visitation will be held from 7pm to 9pm Friday, March 25, 2011 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Denton County Cowboy Church, 400 Robinson Rd., Ponder, TX. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton. Rev. Brandon Henderson will officiate the service.
Ben is survived by his wife, Janis (Fuller) Braley of Justin; daughter, Christy Clements of Argyle; sons, Sergeant John Braley and his wife Julie of Fort Wainwright, AK, Randy Clements and his wife Donna of Lewisville; sisters, Dorothy McElwee of New Boston, Venetta Grist of Arkansas, Doris Crane of Allen; brothers, R.B.
