Wallace Lee Duvall Wallace Lee Duvall

Wallace Lee Duvall, age 85 of Rockwall, TX, passed away May 16, 2011.He was born March 10, 1926 in Charleston, AR, to Marion Wallace Duvall & Clara (Jackson) Duvall. Wallace was a U.S. Army Retired Lieutenant Colonel who served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He went on to work as a professor at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, where he helped to start the hospital administration program. Wallace was a member of First Baptist Church in Denton, TX, where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his son: Ron Duvall and wife Peggy of Utopia, TX; daughter: Nancy Hinckley of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren: Jeremy and Ian Duvall, Andrew and Chris Hinckley and Travis Armstrong; ten great grandchildren; and sister, Anna Mae Moore of Claremore, OK. Wallace was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Duvall on May 1, 2010; one brother; and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held 10 am, Friday, May 20, 2011 at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery with Pastor Travis Armstrong officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm. Services under the direction of Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rockwall, TX.

 

 

Floyd Eugene Hammett Floyd Eugene Hammett

Floyd Eugene Hammett, 60, of Justin, died Saturday May 14, 2011 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.

Mr. Hammett was born on April 1, 1951 in Denton to Billy Wayne and Ruby Nell (Hilliard) Hammett. He was married to Debra Johnson on January 21, 1995 in Denton. He was a member of Sage Meadow Christian Fellowship in Justin. He worked as a land surveyor for many years.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Sage Meadow Christian Fellowship, 531 John Wiley Rd, Justin. Rev. Bryan Hendricks will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Justin Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Hammett of Justin; father, Billy Wayne Hammett of Antlers, OK; sister, Tina Ann Hammett of Denton; brother, Gary Hammett of Aubrey.

John W. Mize, 82 of Sherman, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011.Arrangements are pending with Huff/Slay Funeral Home, Pilot Point, TX.

 

 

Doris Ann Rogers

Doris Ann Rogers, 75 of Little Elm, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at her home.

She was born on October 5, 1935 in Denton to Marvin E. and Dorothy Otaree (Trammell) White. She married Willie Ray Rogers on August 18, 1951 in Denton, he preceded her in death.She was instrumental in helping get the Lake Lewisville Toll Bridge built. She was voted Little Elm Citizen of the Year in 1999.She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was Baptist.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 10 am at CrossRidge Church in Little Elm with Rev. Marc Farnell officiating; burial will follow at Little Elm Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey.

She is survived by three sons, Allen Rogers of Gainesville, Billy Rogers of Little Elm and Brad Rogers of Colleyville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Bobbie Erwin of Whitesboro. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Ronald Rogers; two brothers, Douglas White and Wayne White, and one sister, Sue Gass.

Services are under the direction of Slay Memorial Funeral Center, Aubrey, TX.

 

 

Deborah Joyce (Debbye) Espe Deborah Joyce (Debbye) Espe

Deborah Joyce Espe passed away on May 12, 2011 at her home in Corinth, TX after suffering from a long illness.Debbye was surrounded by friends and family, and passed peacefully without pain.

Debbye was born on October 24, 1949 at Fort Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone. She was an avid quilter who made an estimated 300 quilts and was honored with several awards for her creations. Debbye spent a lifetime caring for children and established lifelong friendships with many that she cared for.

Debbye is survived by her husband, Brent Espe of Corinth; three daughters, Lori Guthrie of Fort Worth, Sarah Espe and Megan Espe of Corinth; one son, Justin Rives of Keller; her parents, Dallas and Joan Edging of Burleson, TX and two sisters, Jill Edging of Burleson and Judy Thompson of Golden, TX. She also had two step children, Troy Espe of Madison, WI and Sara Anderson of Carroll, IA.Debbye had seven grandchildren, one niece, one nephew and countless friends.

The family wants to thank all of the friends who have expressed their sympathy and offered words of support and comfort. Special thanks to Homer Walkup, Danny Meegan, Lake Shore Baptist Church and Bluebonnet Home Care and Bluebonnet Hospice Care for all the kindness they have shown.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care 5237 N. Riverside Dr. Suite 220 Fort Worth, TX 76137 in honor of Debbye. A memorial service will be held at Lake Shore Baptist Church 276 E. Hundley Dr. in Lake Dallas, TX on Sunday, May 22, at 1:30 pm.
