COLLINSVILLE - Funeral services for Nancy Newcomb, 57, will be held Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Christal Fisher officiating. Family visitation will be Friday evening, September 30, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She passed away on September 28, 2011 in Sherman, Texas.
Nancy Ann Newcomb was born on October 16, 1953 to Walton Thomas and Ida Mae (Hamby) Cundiff in Littlefield, Texas. She married Lewis Newcomb, Sr. on June 21, 2003.
She is survived by her son Thomas Griffin and his wife, Cat, of Collinsville, TX; daughter, April McDowell and husband, Mike, of Aubrey, TX; grandchildren: Lanie Griffin, Morgan Griffin, Ashley Zercher, Woodrow Fairman, Kathryn Fairman, Rome Fairman; one great grandchild, Brooklyn Zercher; two brothers, Donald Cundiff and Terry Cundiff; and her father, Walton Cundiff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Newcomb. Sr.; her mother, Ida Cundiff; her sister, Janis Cundiff; and her brother, Charles Cundiff.

Tommie Bothwell Tommie Bothwell
Tommie Bothwell was born June 16, 1912 to Tom and Annie Dobie. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She attended school in Celina, received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from North Texas State University. She taught 1st and 2nd grades for 37 years-35 in Celina.
She married Sam Bothwell in 1936.
Mrs. Bothwell passed away September 27, 2011 at the home of her daughter, west of Prosper, where she lived for the past 6 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Celina her whole life and served as elder and treasurer for many years. She was a charter member of the Fidelis Inter Se Club.
Mrs. Bothwell is survived by her daughter, Sammie Carey; granddaughters, Jo Lynn Ninemire and husband, Steve, Laura Varner and husband, Doug; grandson, Mark Carey and wife, Cathi; great grandson, Wade Ninemire and wife, Elizabeth; great granddaughters, Kelly Ninemire, Kristin Varner and Katie Varner, and her niece, Peggy Hiest.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1913, her husband in 1942, her mother in 1959, her sister, Maggie Howell, in 1977, and her sister, Elizabeth Perry, in 2001.
Visitation will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral home in Celina Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 4-6 pm. A Funeral Service will be at the Funeral Home in Celina on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Donations may be sent to the Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Gladys Cleo Yeary Montgomery
Gladys Cleo Yeary Montgomery, 92, of Krum, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.She was born in Oklahoma on May 31, 1919 to Joseph Crosley and Josephine Walton Crosley. She was a member of the Church of God, was a wonderful seamstress and gardener, and loved her chickens and cows.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 6-8 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A graveside service will be on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11:00 am at Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery in Krum, TX.
Cleo is survived by her daughters, Ada Jo Yeary Newell and Lillian Yeary Freeman; son, Jimmy Ray Yeary; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Yeary; and parents.

Phyllis Hyatt MacLachlan, 90, of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Washington D.C., died April 28, 2011, at the AST Gentle Care Home.She was born October 21, 1920, in Washington DC to Gilbert Hyatt and Clara T. Hyatt.
She married John Roxburgh MacLachlan, formerly of Denton, Texas, on Aug. 23, 1941, in Washington DC. They resided the past 30 years in Vancouver, Washington.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with a Rev. officiating from the First Presbyterian Church of Denton.
She is survived by two sons, John R. MacLachlan Jr. of Gretna, La., and James G. MacLachlan of Bellingham, Wa., and a daughter, Phyllis M. Ulowetz of Destrehan, La.; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grand children.

Joshua Aaron Douglas, 28, of Tishomingo, OK, passed away September 26, 2011 in Tishomingo as the result of a car accident. He was born on Mother's Day; May 10, 1983 in Denton, TX to David and Cindye Douglas.
He lived in the Denton area most of his life. In 2009 he moved to Tishomingo and started an overhead door company. He loved riding motorcycles, playing his guitar, fishing, and the outdoors. The happiest day of his life was December 1st 2004; the day his pride and joy, the apple of his eye was born...his son Jacob. He shared his love of the outdoors with him.
Josh is survived by his son Jacob Ambrouse Douglas of Denton; his dad and step-mom, David Douglas & Gayle Cook of Krum, brother, Davy Douglas of Troup; two step-brothers, Jimmy Ludlam of Denison; and Caleb Ludlam of Sherman; his grandad, Bill Douglas of Troup; niece, Lizzi Ludlam of Denison; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins that loved him dearly. He is also survived by his fiance' Mandee Brodeur and her three children, Alissa Brodeur, Anna Purifoy, and Hayden Barkley all of Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his mom Cindye Johnson Douglas; and his two grandmothers, Marie Douglas and Mary Jane Johnson.
Memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, October 1st, 2pm at the Sanger Elks Lodge, 1601 Marina Cir, Sanger, TX 76266.

Velma Jewell Baker, 77 of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at her home.She was born January 2, 1934 in Denton to Claude and Winona (Monds) Williams.She was a graduate of Denton High School and a member of the Lake Shore Baptist Church in Lake Dallas. She was retired from the First State Bank where she was a Teller Supervisor.She was married to Elvin M. Baker on February 15, 1952 in Gainesville.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband Elvin Baker of Denton, two daughters, Patricia Lynn Baird and husband Danny of Denton, Laura Ann Boxell and husband Jay of Ponder, a son Arthur (Art) M. Baker of Corinth, a sister Emma Jean Smith of Grapevine, Grandchildren, Amber Baker, Art Baker, Jr., Austin Baker, Megan Baird, Sam Baird, Kristin Boxell, and Grant Boxell. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son John Lee Baker, and a Brother Francis Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Lake Shore Baptist Church, with Rev. Homer Walckup officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and SonFuneral Home, 705 N. Locust, Dentonon Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at 6-8 pm for visitation.
