Ms. Betty Reed passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Denton, TX.A special visitation for Ms. Reed will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 7-8pm at Peoples Funeral Home and Chapel.

She was survived by her life partner, Deneena Broadnax; mother, Lendy Davis; children, Y'londa (Michael) Finely of Ft. Worth, TX, Michael Reed, Jr., Rosalyn (Itzel Franco) Reed; one special son, Justin Brodnax; siblings, Jessie "Cheetah" Davis, Jr., Charolotte Davis, Michael Davis and "Pennyman" Davis; one grandchild, Nevaeh Reed-Franco and best friend, Sharron English.

Garrett Thomas Lumbattis, 71,passed away, Monday, October 24, 2011 in Plano, TX.Services are pending with Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey, TX.



Val Paul Kilgore Val Paul Kilgore

Val Paul Kilgore passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011. He was born on December 21, 1939 in O'Donnel, TX. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Kilgore; daughters, Katherine Bautista and Valerie Montgomery. Mother, Burnice Kilgore, brothers, Jimmy Kilgore and Danny Kilgore, sisters, Casandra Krugman and Christine Thompson. Grandchildren, Carmen, Joey, Alex, Zoe, and Haley. And many relatives and friends.

He served 21 years in the Army. He was a businessman until he retired and moved to Denton.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 6-8 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A service will be on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Maxwell Young officiating. Burial will follow at 1:45 pm at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.



Rev. Esteban Saucedo Rev. Esteban Saucedo

Rev. Esteban Saucedo, surrounded by his family, joined the heavenly Father on October 24, 2011 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, son and grandchildren. A minister of 54 years, he leaves behind a spiritual legacy in both TX and MX. Born to a family of priests and bishops, he was studying music when God called him to the Episcopal ministry and was ordained in 1957. He founded his first congregation in Brownsville, spent over 16 years establishing missions in Juarez, El Paso and McKinney.

After retirement he was an interim priest for Spanish-speaking congregations at St. Matthew Cathedral in Dallas, the Church of the Holy Nativity in Plano and St. David of Wales in Denton. Rev. Saucedo will always be remembered for his warm personality and good sense of humor that naturally resulted in congregants flocking to him. In recognition of his more than half century of service to the Episcopal Church he was awarded an outstanding alumni award by The Seminary of the Southwest in 2010. The Funeral Service will be at 4:00 PM on October 28, 2011 at St. David of Wales, 623 Ector St., Denton, TX 76201. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. David's Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society.
