Richard D. Holifield SR, 65 of Ponder, TX passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 in Denton, TX. He was born on June 22, 1946 in Riceville, KY to William and Ruby (Batts) Holifield SR.He was married to Audrey Dianne Barlet on September 13, 1965 in Dallas, TX.
A visitation will begin at 6pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 with a funeral service to follow at 7pm at the Denton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 2pm at Mahomet Cemetery in Bertram, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Holifield of Florence, TX; son, Richard Holifield of Bertram, TX; daughter, Keri Murphy of Mesquite, TX; brothers, Frank Holifield of Irving, TX, Cecil Holifield of Balch Springs, TX, and James Holifield of Crowley, TX; son-in-law, Thomas Hemker of Ponder, TX; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelli Hemker; sister, Pearl; and brother, William T. Holifield JR.
